        6.1 Coordinator Report

The Belgardes were contact about their letter concerning the disabled parking at the new Watsonville Civic Center.  They have been in discussions with the City Manager and feel the problem will be resolved.   They will let the Commission know the results.   Staff reminded the Commission that the Terry Brickley Scholarship had not been funded last year.  Staff spoke with Terry’s wife who said that he would have liked to support student activism.  There was no proposal and the matter was tabled.  The retreat is set for August 7.  The new Parking Enforcement Cards were distributed at the Shared Adventures Day at the Beach.

Sidewalks  - A member of the public called about the sidewalk in front of the Sparrow Caf้.  It is raised fairly high above the street and access to the sidewalk is around the block.  Commisioner Patrick reviewed a CD on Sidewalk Safety.  Since the Community Traffic Safety Coalition from the Santa Cruz County Transportation Commission is also looking at this issue, he will pass on a copy of the CD to Karena Pushnik.
