MEETING minutes

1.0    Call to Order

Commissioner Heylin called the meeting to order at 12:40 p.m.

 

2.0    Roll Call

3.0 Minutes  - The Meeting Minutes for August were accepted. Msp MB/JC 1 abstain

6.0 On-Going Business

 

6.5    Update on Arana Gulch Master Plan – The Court Appeal decided against the opponents of the proposed development.  The commission voted to write a letter to the Board of Supervisors requesting that the County support the Arana Gulch Master Plan. Msp: MB/BM unanimous

 

6.6 Bylaw Revisions The Commission received a letter from County regarding the bylaw revisions recently passed by the Commission, along with recommendations for changes by County Counsel.  This matter was put over until the next meeting.  Staff will email information to all commissioners, including a copy of the applicable County Code section.

 

Coordinators Report

Retreat is scheduled for October 8, 9 am to 2 pm at Chair Heylin’s house.  Commissioners should submit ideas for the retreat to the coordinator to put on the agenda.

 

The Accessible Design brochure needs to be circulated again for better usage.  Staff will meet with former commissioner Patrick.

 

Kiosks are available for “Blue” (accessible) construction.  However, the County does not want to include anything that mentions specific products.

 

Commissioner Reports 

 

Commissioner Cosentino reported that there is a major effort at Dominican Hospital to prepare for the H1N1 flu.  There may not be enough vaccine.

 

The Commission wanted to know how the recent Survey on Residents with Disabilities was received in order to follow up on this project.  The Commissioners will call people who got the surveys to determine their responses and report back at the retreat.

 

Next meeting will include some one on the H1N1 flu.  Staff will also contact Francie Neufield to discuss IHSS cuts.
